What are the benefits you have seen with using SciNote?
Having personally used many different ELN systems over the years, I think SciNote stood out as the easiest to work with in many aspects. We particularly have benefited from the protocol sharing function, the easy search function, and the ability to structure experimental workflows and associated data where many different people contribute from start to end.
Can you tell us a bit about your company’s work?
Contera Pharma is a Danish biotech company with an affiliate in Seoul, South Korea. We develop innovative therapies to improve life for people suffering from neurological disorders.

How did you decide to start using an electronic lab notebook? What were the main reasons you chose SciNote?
We have an inherent need to document our experiments, methods, and innovation, so it was never a question for us not to use an ELN.
When starting in the company, we identified a few ELNs with good reviews among those SciNote. We then carried out test trials of those and apart from the many good functions in SciNote, I think the excellent video tutorials were a decisive factor for going with SciNote in the end.

What was the process of implementing SciNote in your company?
My role when joining the company was to start the preclinical research organization, so we started from nothing. At the time, I was the only data contributor, documenting studies carried out at CROs, so there were basically no challenges at all getting started.
We currently have 5-6 SciNote users; they onboarded in the system by internal training and video tutorials.
What are the benefits you have seen with using SciNote?
As mentioned, there has been no Pre-SciNote time at Contera, but I see overall benefits from the many functions in SciNote.

Does the use of SciNote help Contera Pharma in its growth? If so, how?
It is essential for us to have good documentation of our experiments, data and innovation. Many other ELNs could provide the framework for that, however good documentation is 100% dependent on data providers having a good documentation culture. By making documentation easy, SciNote supports that we adhere to that culture.
