We’re partnering with Ascenscia to Advance Voice-to-Note Capacity for Your Lab

2 min read

We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with Ascenscia, the provider of the most accurate voice-activated digital assistant for scientific researchers. With their help, we’ll be able to bring advanced lab note annotations, introducing hands-free interactions that are particularly valuable in labs with strict environments.

This feature will present a dynamic alternative to the current browser-based dictation plugins for annotation and note-taking available to SciNote users. With the integration of Ascenscia’s voice solution, researchers can now dictate notes and observations directly into SciNote, improving quality of data and eliminating time consuming manual documentation. Additionally, Ascenscia’s AI-voice assistant can guide scientists through experimental procedures, sitting timers and performing calculations, which helps in streamlining workflows and improving efficiency. This is especially beneficial in environments dealing with hazardous materials or biosafety concerns, where hands-free operation is essential.

SciNote’s CEO Brendan McCorkle noted, “”We are thrilled to work with another company that focuses on easing the friction of digitization in the lab. Ascenscia’s voice navigation system removes barriers to data capture at the bench, especially in labs working with hazardous materials. We are thrilled to combine their technology with SciNote’s industry-leading R&D Workspace, reducing the need for scientists to memorize and retype notes in these critical labs.”

The integration of Ascenscia’s voice assistant into SciNote marks a significant step forward in laboratory digitization. This collaboration offers a smoother and more efficient user experience, enabling scientists to:

  • Capture Instant Notes: Record your observations, deviations, and results on the spot without interrupting your workflow.
  • Research Hands-Free: Keep your hands free for experiments and handling samples, reducing the risk of contamination.
  • Increase Your Efficiency: Speed up data recording and annotation processes, enabling quick information capture without manual writing.
  • Make SciNote More Accessible: Assist researchers with disabilities or those who find it challenging to write or type, ensuring they can contribute effectively to lab work.
  • Multitask: Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, such as conducting experiments while recording observations, improving overall lab productivity.

The current integration allows scientists to utilize the Ascenscia app to access information in a SciNote Task and save voice notes to a SciNote Task, with future expansions -such as accessing SciNote inventories – planned based on user demands.

This partnership underscores the flexibility and innovation both SciNote and Ascenscia bring to the laboratory setting, setting a new standard for lab work in the digital age.
