Export All Your Data in A Readable Format from SciNote
2 min read
SciNote Premium Academia and Industry accounts now enable you to export all your projects’ data in a readable format. And it gets even better – all your attachments will also be neatly organized in folders.
Exporting all your data from SciNote
1. Select your projects
When you hover your mouse over the projects on your Team Projects screen you’ll see that you can tick the box in the upper right corner of each project card and select one or multiple projects.
2. Click Export projects
After you select the projects you want to export all data from, click export all in the upper right corner of your Team projects screen.
You will receive an e-mail with the requested export package in zipped folder.
What will the export look like i.e. what will you get?
You will get the .zip folder that will contain:
1. Full project report with all data
Ready to print and completely readable, your full, detailed, large project report file will be ready for you to store, use or share with the project team if needed.
How?
2. All attachments, neatly organized in folders
The name of the main .zip folder will be the name of your team.
Each project within it has its own folder. Folders will be numbered so that you’ll know exactly in which order they were organized in SciNote.
When you open a project folder, you’ll see that experiments within each project have their sub-folders. You can also see the folder that contains files from your archived experiments, and your inventories. Also, here you’ll be able to find the full project report file.
When you open the experiment sub-folder, you’ll see that each task has its own folder.
Even attachments (the files which you attached to each task) will be divided into folders e.g. protocol and results attachments.
Each file (attachment) will also contain the number of the protocol step in its name, so you’ll know exactly to which part of the protocol this particular file was attached.
3. Data from each inventory, items from which have been assigned to task(s), will be exported as an Excel table, one table per inventory.
They will be available and organized in the Inventories sub-folder, which will be within the main folder of your project (shown above). Also, if you had any files attached to your inventory items, they will be there as well (organized in the inventory attachments folder).
We recommend you also export all your inventories separately. This is well described in this short article.
Please note that export all functionality is available to SciNote Premium users only!
